ICABARRUS <br /> <br />NORTR CAROLINA <br /> <br />MARCH AGENDA <br /> <br />March 14, 2000 <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />RE: Memorandum of Understanding <br /> North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service <br /> <br />Attached is a "draft" revision to the agreement between the County and Cooperative Extension. <br />Per the 1993 agreement (prior agreement), the County paid a varying percentage of the total <br />salaries/benefits of Extension personnel based upon positions. Due to changes in personnel <br />longevity and other factors, the situation evolved where the County currently is committed to <br />paying more than 50 percent of the total compensation of all Extension staffing locally. <br /> <br />To create a more specific agreement and consistent funding arrangement in place, the proposed <br />"drain" assigns a 50 percent responsibility for total compensation to both parties and gives the <br />County more direct accountability in staff evaluation. <br /> <br />The County remains responsible for other local operating expenses.
