Provided technical assistance and support to the 12 ~ County Community <br /> Advisory Committee volunteers and 1,585 residents in 26 long-temi care facilities. <br /> <br />2. Ombudsman conducted a total of 70 facility visits throughout the county. <br /> <br />3. Provided technical assistance to Division of Facility Services survey team for their <br /> annual certification survey, re-survey, or complaint investigation at six Cabarms <br /> County nursing homes. <br /> <br />4. Conducted 15 staffin-service sessions on topics ranging ~omresident's rights issues <br /> to dementia and difficult behaviors. <br /> <br />5. Attended 3 Family Councils meetings in dlff, urent facilities. <br /> <br />6. Conducted 7 community education programs on long-term care issues throughout <br /> <br />7. Held Behavioral Interventions in Dementia Care Conference at NorthEast Medical <br /> Center with 300 attendees ~om all eight counties in Region F. <br /> <br />8. Sent 2000 calendars to the Cabarms County Adult Care Home and Nursing Home <br /> Community Advisory Committee members along with a legislative update and <br /> actiori plan on the Senate Bill 10 rule h~plementation process. <br /> <br />9. Conducted training and orientation for 8 new Community Advisory Committee <br /> members. <br /> <br />10. Attended meeting for all counties on Dim~ter Planning for long term care facilities. <br /> <br />Il. Developed and disseminated information on upcoming proposed legislation <br /> affecting long-term care, including a Special Care Unit Disclosure Act. <br /> <br />12. Conducted four quarterly business-training meetings for both Cabarms County <br /> Coii.nunity Advisory Committees held at the Cabarms County Senior Center. <br /> <br />13. Prepared and di~tr~uted information, and provided transportation to Advocacy Day <br /> at the North Carolina Legislature which was designated by Representative Beverly <br /> Earle o f Mecklenburg County. <br /> <br />14. Presented the annual 1998 Cabarrus County Community Advisory Committee report <br /> to the Cabarms County Commissioners along with four of the committee members. <br /> <br /> <br />
