CABARRUS COUNTY <br />DAY OF PRAYER <br /> <br />First Thursday of May <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the first Thursday of May has been designated as the NATIONAL DAY <br />OF PRAYER; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Jeremiah 29:12-13 states, "Then you will call upon Me, and go and pray to <br />Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with <br />all your heart;" and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the vast majority of citizens in Cabarrus County believe in the Judeo- <br />Christian values that have made and keep our country great; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, we all need to continually give thanks to God for his many blessings in our <br />lives and to pray for those in authority (I Timothy 2:1-2) and for our county, our state and our <br />nation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Jeremiah 29 says to pray for God's guidance in your life and that of our <br />country; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Isaiah 59 says to exercise humility and repentance with confession for <br />yourself and for our nation, praying that our country will remm to its spiritual roots; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, I Timothy 2 and Romans 12 tell us to pray that the people of our nation <br />would respect one another and be bound together beyond racial and religious barriers, asking for <br />God's unity to restore the people. <br /> <br /> THEREFORE, the Cabarms County Board of Commissioners declares that the first <br />Thursday in May this year (May 4, 2000) and each subsequent year be declared The Annual <br />Cabarrus County Day of Prayer. And, that all citizens join us in praying for our nation, our <br />state, our county and ourselves. <br /> <br />Adopted this the __ day of ,2000. <br /> <br />Ame L.
