NOTICE OF OFFER TO PURCHASE AN INTEREST <br />IN REAL PROPERTY FROM CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 160A-269 and upon motion made and duly seconded at the March <br />20, 2000, meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Cabarms County (the "Board"), the Board, <br />acting as agent for the Cabanas County Board of Education (the "School Board"), proposes to <br />sell approximately 15 +/- acres of school property located on U: S. Highway 29 North (Concord <br />Parkway) and Parkway Avenue in the City of Concord, commonly known as the Cabarms <br />County Schools Administrative Complex (the "School Property") by negotiated offer and <br />contract, subject to upset bid. A bid has been submitted and an offer has been made for the <br />School Property by Benderson Property Development, Inc. and Stephen B. Goodman in the <br />amount of $1,425,000.00 (i.e., $95,000.00/acre per usable acre) (the "Bid") under the terms of a <br />purchase contract (the "Con~'act") on file with the Clerk to the Board, a copy of which is <br />available in her office. Specific terms of the Contract include, among other things, a second and <br />essential contract (the "Facility Construction Contract"), for the design and development of a <br />67,300 square foot administrative fac!lity for the School Board upon a site provided by the <br />County at a cost not to exceed $3,850,000.00 (the "Terms"). <br /> <br /> Any person has ten (10) days from the date of publication of this Notice to increase the <br />Bid by not less than ten percent (10%) of the first One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) Bid and <br />five percent (5%) of the remaining Bid, and thirty (30) days from the date of publication to <br />provide the Facility Construction Contract or equivalent Terms.
