Board of County Commissioners <br />Cabarrus County, ~Vorth Carolina <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS~ the future of this country depends on preparing and encouraging our youth to <br />be active in all areas of citizenship; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the right to participate in a free and open election system by voting for <br />governmental leadership is a fundamental and essential element in democratic governance; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Kids Voting is combating the crisis of low voter turnout which places our <br />democratic way of life at risk; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Kids Voting is a nationally successful program designed to educate and <br />encourage our youth to participate in the electoral process; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the system Kids Voting uses builds citizenship through family participate thus <br />reinforcing important values; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, ARNE L. FENNEL, CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS of Cabarms County, North Carolina, by the virtue of the <br />authority vested in me as Chakman, do hereby proclaim the week of September 25, 2000 as: <br /> <br />"KIDS VOTING WEEK IN CABARRUS COUNTY" <br /> <br />and urge all citizens to be more involved in this dynamic program and supportive of efforts to <br />improve voting participation. <br /> <br />In wimess whereof I have hereunto set my <br />hand and caused this seal to be affixed. <br /> <br />Ame L.
