[C BAARUSCOUNTTJ <br /> <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />NO VEMBER AGENDA <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />DATE: November 13, 2000 <br /> <br />RE: Highway 49 ExpOsition Facility <br /> <br />Consistent with previous Board direction and on-going negotiations with the Cabarms County <br />Agricultural Fair, Inc., the following recommendations for Board action are submitted: <br /> <br />Ao <br /> <br />Authorize the County Manager to enter into agreement with L.A.R.C. (consistent with the <br />November 10m memo, attached) for an amount not to exceed $320,000. ($300,000 <br />contract plus estimated $20,000 reimbursable expenses.) <br /> <br />Authorize the County Manager to enter into agreement with Overcash - Demmitt <br />Architect (consistent with proposal dated November 9th, attached) for an mount not to <br />exceed $525,000. ($512,000 contract plus estimated $13,000 reimbursable expense.) <br /> <br />Authorize a budget amendment of $845,000 for the two contracts as indicated (copy <br />attached). <br /> <br />Authorize the County Manager to advertise and employ a facility manager to assist in site <br />development and eventual full-time management of the facility. (A budget amendment <br />will be developed for Board action.) <br /> <br />NOTE: <br />Understand that per previous discussions, PHASE I of the project will include: <br /> <br />· Buildings A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H <br />· Fairgrounds open area (camival) <br />· Associated parking bordering Old Airport Road between the arena complex and Fairgrounds. <br /> <br /> <br />
