The County still operates a construction <br />and demolition landfill and recycling facilities. On July 1, 1996, the County turned over the operations of the reservoir to <br />the Cabarrus County Water and Sewer Authority. The municipalities are responsible for water <br />distribution and wastewater collection. Sewage treatment is handled by the Cabarrus County Water and <br />Sewer Authority which operates a regional treatment plant and is constructing another smaller plant. The <br />County's utility operations are limited to supplying raw water. <br /> <br /> <br />
