Laga~o~ Thanks for the opportun£ty to make c~.~,,ants on behalf of the Cab&true Courtly Schools regarding pre,Am&nary plat pro~osale for two subdivisions= Br~an~s Green and Stallings Glen - Phase IV. We have reviewed each pla: determine school &=tendanc~ are&e, as well aa the imp&c= on each those schools. Br~an~S G=sen £s £n the W. R. Odell, Northwest c~barrue ~lddle, and Nor~hwes~ Cabarrus High School e~tendance area. We are p=o]ect~ng W. Odell to exceed capacity this fall. According to the ~=inolpal, the curren~ enrollment is a: 885 with a ca~a¢ity of 864. The middle and high school have been capped as of July 1, 1998. Students moving ~nto those areas ~re being assigned to alternate ~¢hoole in KannapolAs and Concord. According to the enroklment eta:us at these schools~ we obvAoualy do not h&ve&dequate s~ace to accommodate the additional students from a eubdlvieion of g50 pro~osed Suallinge Glen - Phase IV is An :he Rocky Rive=, J. ~. Fries, can:re1 ca~arrus attendance a~eas. Whale we still have adequate spice &: Rocky Rive= for students £n K-S, J. N. Fries and Central Cab,rrus have been cap,ed effscUive July 1, 1998. New students mo=lng in~o this ar~a will be assi~ed to either Conco=d High and Hlddle School as the &~=ern&te school. The repl&c~nt school for Harrisburg will be o~en in this vicinity by :he fall of 2000. This should give us adequate space for o~entsry age studontsl however, w~ would not be able =o acco~odate the middle and high school age ftuden:e at J. N.
