NORTH <br /> <br />C~B~RU~ COUNTY <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> ~RF~%8, the Cabarrus County Board of Education (the "Board") <br />has determined that it is in the best interest of the citizens and <br />residents of Cabarrus County (the "County") and necessary for its <br />public schools, students and faculty, to develop and construct a <br />new high school to be located in the rapidly growing western area <br />of the County (the "Project"); and <br /> <br /> W~R~AS, the Board, with the authorization of the Cabarrus <br />County Board of commissioners (the "Commission"), has previously <br />purchased 47.865 acres~ along Pitts School Road (the "Allred/Pharr <br />Property") as a portion of the site for the Project; and <br /> <br /> ~HERF.~S, the Board, with the concurrence of the Commission, is <br />diligently seeking to expedite completion of the Project so as to <br />occupy the new high school facility at or prior to the commencement <br />of the 2001-2002 school year; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board has previously authorized a Notice of <br />Action to acquire ~nother twenty-five (25) acres± necessary for the <br />Project (the "Roseman Property"), the value of which, by appraisal, <br />is established as at least Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars <br />($800,000.00) and which recently sold for approximately One Million <br />Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,200,000.00); and <br /> <br /> ~R~AS, the verified estimate for "site work" on the Project, <br />including both the Roseman Property and the Allred/Pharr Property, <br /> <br />is at least One Million Six Hundred Thousand Dollars <br />($1,600,000.00); and <br /> <br /> <br />
