Memorandum

TO:

From:

Date:

Subject:

Cathie Straub
Cabarrus County Budget Officer

Tom Dillard
Library Director

January 11, 1999

Amendment of Kannapolis Library Budget and Mt. Pleasant
Library Budget to include Cannon Trusts Grant funds

This is to advise you that funds appropriated for the purchase of
Library Materials(books, audio-visual, etc.) for the Kannapolis
Library and the Mt. Pleasant Library will soon be expended. I am
requesting that funds granted by The Charles A. Cannon Memorial
Trusts One and Two to Cabarrus County for the specific purpose of
purchasing library materials for the Kannapolis Library be
transferred from Fund Balance Appropriated to line item 82-10-355
an 82-20-355, Other Operational Cost. The amounts requested to be
transferred are $ 35,000.00 for Kannapolis and 5,000.00 for Mt.
Pleasant. These funds should be adequate to cover the purchase
of library materials for the remainder of the current fiscal
year. As stipulated by the Cannon Charitable Trusts grant
instrument, these funds may only be used for the purchase of
library materials and then only after all other funds
appropriated for that purpose are exhausted. I request that this
rrequest be placed on the agenda of the Board of County
Commissioners at the meeting scheduled for January 20, 1999.
These grants were made to the County on March 11, 1998. I have
attached copies of the grant documents for your review.

cc: John Day
Blair Bennett
Susie Bonds
