As we discussed, we had approached every catedng business in <br />this area that we are aware of that has the capabilities of providing this service. Most of the major food service <br />companies are owned by the same parent corporation and will not bid against a sister company that already has <br />the contract. Therefore, Service America Corp., Service Master and DEKA would not compete against Canteen. <br />We talked to two other caterers that had indicated that they would submit a bid, yet failed do so. We also talked <br />to several potential vendors that told us that they would be unable to bid at this time. <br /> <br />Under these circumstances, I do not believe that we could get another competitive bid if we re-opened the <br />process. Taking these facts into consideration, plus the fact that this proposal represents a price reduction of $ <br />.11 per meal, I respectfully request that we accept this bid of $ 2.89. <br /> <br />Thank you for your time and assistance with this process. <br />Mike <br /> <br />Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
