In addition to
creating, testing, and update their emergency plan, the commission also receives
emergency releases and hazardous chemical inventory information from local facilities
and makes this information available to the public.

This commission has not been very active in the last few years for various reasons.
Therefore over the last year our department has worked very hard to contact the original
members and recruit new members from our community The list of members before you
represents employees of several industries in the county as well as several governmental
agencies. Many of which have experience in the string, handling, and transporting of
hazardous materials. Each of them has participated in our meetings throughout the last
year as we have begun the process of rebuilding this very important commission.

Our office recommends each person on the attached list and requests your approval so
that we may forward this list to the Noah Carolina Division of Emergency Management.

Office of Development Services

PO Box 707 · Concord, HC 28026-0707 · Zoning: (704) 788-8137 · Building Inspection: (704) 788~312,5
