Length 0.78 Mi. <br />(Partial Fund). <br /> <br />TOTAL PROGRAM <br /> <br />$ 845,723.00 <br /> <br />NOTE: 1: IF RIGHT OF WAY CANNOT BE OBTAINED FOR ONE OF THE ABOVE ROADS, OR IF <br /> ~JDDITIONAL FUNDS ~RE RECEIVED, WE WILL APPLY FUNDS TO THE NEXT ROAD, <br /> OR ROADS, IN PRIORITY ORDER. <br />NOTE: 2: PROGP~AM SUBJECT TO AVAIL~ILITY OF FUNDING, RIGHT OF WAY ~ugD <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner PriveEte, seconded by Co~issioner Casper <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 1999 - 11 <br /> A RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO THE <br />1999-2000 SECONDARY ROD/D CONSTRUCTION PROGP~AM <br /> FOR CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has submitted a <br /> proposed Secondary Road Program in the amount of $1,133,950.00 <br /> for Cabarrus County for the 1999-2000 Fiscal Year; and <br />WHEREAS, representatives of the Department of Transportation in accordance <br /> with North Carolina General Statute 136-44.8 met with the Board <br /> of County Commissioners at a regular meeting of the Board on May <br /> 17, 1999, at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the <br /> Cabarrus County Governmental Center in Concord, North Carolina, <br /> in order to present to and discuss with the Board and other <br /> citizens present the proposed 1999-2000 Secondary Road Program; <br /> and <br />WHEREAS~ North Carolina General Statute 135-44.8 provides that the Board <br /> of County Commissioners, after the presentation and discussion of <br /> the annual Secondary Road Program, may concur with the program as <br /> proposed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of <br /> Cabarrus that said Board does concur with the 1999-2000 Secondary Road <br /> Program as presented by the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br /> and recommend that the Board of Transportation adopt the proposed <br /> program for Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Adopted this 17Lh day of May, 1999. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />/~/ Franki¢ F. Barnhart, Chairman <br />Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />Non-Km~rqencv Ambulance Franchise Re=ues= by NuCare Carolina. Inc. - Public <br />Hearina - 6:30 P.m. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ron Harwood, Emergency Medical Services Director, reported the non- <br />emergency ambulance franchise with ~J~erican Medical Response had expired. The <br />company did not wish to renew the franchise and discontinued non-emergency <br />a~ulance service in Cabarrus County on May 14, 1999. NuCare Carolina, Inc. <br />has applied for a franchise to provide this needed service in the county. <br />Stating he had received all positive comments concerning NuCare's operation <br />in other COunties, Mr. Harwood recommended the award of the franchise to <br />NuCare. Further, he reported NuCare had submitted all required certifications <br />concerning the company's equipment, employees, insurance and registrations <br />with its application package. <br /> <br /> At 7:12 p.m., Chairman Barnhart opened the public hearing concerning <br />the application by NuCare Carolina, Inc. for a franchise to operate a non- <br />emergency a~ulance service in Cabarrus County. The Notice of the Public <br />Hearing was published in THE INDEPENDENT TRIBUNE on May 7 and 14, 1999. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jeff Corbett, Marketing Director of NuCare Carolina, gave a brief <br />overview of the company and its services. The 20-year old company began <br />operation in North Carolina in 1997 and currently has franchises in the <br />counties of Iredell, Forsyth, Stokes and Mecklenburg. <br /> <br /> There was no one else who wished to address the Board, and Chairman <br />Barnhart closed the public hearing. <br /> <br /> <br />
