The first was received on March, 1998 for
$27,763. This grant was for middle school youth and was rolled into the 4-H SOS/PACK
program since the programs were working with the same youth. Linda McGlamery is the
director of these programs. Approximately 912,000 of that grant was spent prior to last
fiscal year and the remaining 915,349 was allocated into the 4-H SOS revenue account for
this fiscal year. This money was expended from the general 4-H SOS account by
September, 1998 and this amendment request is to move money from the revenue account
into the general account to cover deficit amounts in specific lines.

The second school age care grant was awarded this fall and was designed to work with
school age care providers (adults) on the accreditation of sites and supervisors to comply
with new North Carolina child care regulations. Alice Ward was hired to administer this
grant through our office. This 936,000 grant was put into a separate budget within the
Cooperative Extension Service and is a completely different account from which the first
grant was obtained, utilized and expended.

We hope this additional information will allow you to approve this reallocation of resources.
Please contact me at 792-0430 with any questions you might have.
