Seventy-three percent (73 %) of the 347 persons responding to this question are employed as
white-collar professionals, while 20% hold blue-collar positions.

Observations

Each person surveyed was given the opportunity to provide comments on proposed public
transportation services. A general supportive/non-supportive assessment of these comments
was made from the 66 surveys that included comments. Approximately 62 percent of the
persons surveyed were supportive of the potential service and say they would use transit if it
were available. The other 38 percent were not supportive and raised concerns about
subsidizing routes that would not directly benefit everyone.

According to the survey results, 62 percent (62 %) of the persons answering the question
reported that they were supportive of the scheduled bus service. Thirty-eight percent (38%) do
not feel that it would be productive and that the necessary money required for this system is
not justified. Sixty-seven percent (67%) of the 291 persons responding to the question stated
that they would use public transportation services to travel to and from work (23 %), School
(2%), Shopping (17%), Medical Service (6%), and Recreation (19%). Ninety-nine percent of
the persons surveyed currently have access to transportation (e.g., automobile).
Approximately five percent participate in car or van pooling for most of the work week.

Survey 3 (Public Housing Residents) {18 Respondents)

The following survey results are derived from a separate Citizen Survey.
