RETIREMENT RECOGNITION

LINDA C. HEILIG
12-10-1970 TO 6-30-1999

Linda Heilig will retire with 30 years of service to Cabarrus County on June 30, 1999.
Her career at the Department of Social Services was distinguished by her unfailing devotion to
her responsibilities and a total commitment to excellence in public service.

Mrs. Heilig began her service with DSS as a typist in 1970. From the outset, she
demonstrated a strong work ethic and an ability to produce a quality product under pressure.
Her talents were recognized and, over the years, she progressed steadily to higher and higher
levels of responsibility. At the time of her retirement, she was the supervisor of the Finance Unit
and was responsible for most all the financial and reimbursement reports, as well as paying the
Agency's bills. Mrs. Heilig handles, manages, or over-watches most all the money that flows
through the Agency on a daily basis.

Mrs. Heilig has made herself an integral part of the Department of Social Services and a
key player in all Agency functions. She is one of those rare people who have both the talent and
the skills to get things done right and the desire and selflessness to tackle those tasks outside
her basic job responsibilities that make organizations function smoothly and efficiently.
Whenever there was something important going on, you could count on Linda Heilig being
involved in some way, shape or form.

It has been a privilege to serve with Mrs. Heilig. I know she has earned the highest
respect of everyone here in the Department of Social Services, in Cabarrus County government,
and throughout the community.

Mrs. Heilig has profoundly touched us ali and we will miss her as she leaves to pursue
other challenges and make her impact in other arenas.
