- /AXlMUs
Helping Government Serve The People

Mr. Blair Bennett
Deputy Manager
Cabarrus County
P.O. Box 707
Concord, NC 28026
DearS:"

May 7,1999

DMG-MAXIMUS, INC. is pleased to submit this contract to prepare and negotiate
Cabarms County's indirect cost allocation plan. This contract does include a small fee increase.
For most of our clients, this increase represents the first increase since 1992.

Your county should be realizing the additional indirect cost associated with the services
provided by the Sheriff's Department on behalf of the Department of Social Services. These
new costs were identified and negotiated with the State (DHHS) as part of the Revenue
Maximization project. I am currently in discussions with the State regarding the inclusion of
county-wide indirect cost in the determination of Medicaid rates for various Mental Health
programs.

DMG-MAXIMUS, INC. is prepared to offer a multi-year contract, where the County can
lock in the fee for the same scope of services for three years, or through the preparation of the
FYE June 30, 200t cost allocation plan. Please note that we have incorporated into the contract,
paragraph 15, a contingency clause whereby, "...if the Board of Commissioners fails to
appropriate funds to continue this Agreement, such Agreement may be terminated," in
accordance with paragraph 8 of the enclosed contract.

We at DMG-MAXIMUS, INC. sincerely appreciate your support and the confidence
shown in our firm over the past years. I look forward to hearing from you or seeing you soon, at
the upcoming conferences. Please give me a call at (919) 876-8042 if you have any questions
regarding this contract, or if you desire additional infom~ation regarding DMG-MAXIMUS'
other services.

Very Truly Yours,
DMG-MAXIMUS, INC.

Vice President

THM/ja
Enclosures

1100 Logger Court, Suite D-100 · R;~igh~lC_ 27609 · 919.876.8042 · FAX 919.878.8592
