[CA8, RI IIS COU I

NORTH CAOOLIN~,

August 30, 1999

To:

From:

Subject:

Cabarms County Board of County Commissioners
Cabarms County Manager
Cabarms County Deputy Manager

Steve L. Little, Director

Recommended Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Matching Incentive Grant
Requests for Fiscal Year 1999-2000

On August 26, 1999, the Cabarms County Parks and Recreation Commission heard presentations
from eleven community groups requesting Cabarrus County Matching Incentive Grant funds.
The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners approved total funds of $100,000.00 available in
FY 1999-2000. One grant request from Odell PTA is for exhaust fans for the school gymnasium
and it was ruled an ineligible request (request considered a maintenance item on a current
facility). In the Hartsell Athletic Association grant request, the proposal is for the renovation of
current ballfield dugouts and restrooms; therefore, these project elements were eliminated from
the Hartsell grant request. With the elimination of these project elements and additions to other
grants, the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission recommends $ 100,000.00 in
Cabarrus County funds towards eleven community projects. Attached is a brief summary and
recommended amount of each project. The recommended projects are attached for the Cabarrus
County Board of Commissioners' review and consideration.

Parks and Recreation Department

"- · ~'~' ~ N~. 28026-0707 7:7,'-.
~ 0m.,-:', ~.'-e~t ~z ....
