TRAFFIC IMPACT STUDY FOR
BOOE/UNTZ DEVELOPMENT

The traffic study below is created on behalf of the proposed residential
community that will be located to the west of Shiloh Church Road between
Odell School Road and NC Hwy. 73.
The proposed community will be comprised of 942 single-family lots, which
will yield 9,420 vehicular trips per day. We anticipate the total amount of
daily trips will be equally split between the tw° entrances to the site, Shiloh
Church Road (which exits into Cabarrus County) to the east and Shearer
Road (which exits into Mecklenburg County) to the west. The first four
roads below are located within close proximity to our site, are roughly the
same length, and have roughly the same capacity. The fifth road, Shiloh
Church Road, will be one of the two access points to our site and will be
aided by turn lanes at the time of development. The traffic count for Shiloh
Church Road was compiled on Thursday the 23rd of September. Shearer
Road, which no data has been located as of yet, will also require turn lanes
in order to handle the increased traffic capacity.

The data below was gathered by the Department of Transportation.

Road Name State Road # Avg.cars/day Length (miles)
Archer Road SR 1612 780 2.6
Eamhardt Lake Road SR 1613 720 2.9
Jim Johnson Road SR 1602 300 1.9
Coxmill Road SR 1488 550 1.9
Shiloh ChUrch Road i SR 1843 : 662 ' ~i!~!i 2,8

The Department of Transportation found the capacity of Shiloh Church
Road to be 850 vehicles/hour. This data was found using the following
parameters: 45 MPH speed limit, 80% passing zone over a total length of 2
miles and level terrain on 18 feet of pavement with a 4 foot shoulder on each
lane. Shiloh Church Road has a service level of C with 5% of the traffic
during peak hours being truck traffic. The existing traffic during peak hours
on Shiloh Church Road is 100 vehicles/hour.

F:kDatakEng\990706\dwg\TRAFFIC IMPACT STUDYg.30.99.doc
