-2-

The overall Iow bidder was H & L Paving, Inc. of Charlotte North Carolina. After reviewing
these bids and discussing these projects with the overall low bidder and the engineering
company, we would like to recommend to the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners the
following: (1) construct four new tennis courts instead of renovating four tennis courts at Mt.
Pleasant Middle School/Park site, (2) expand the tennis courts at Central Cabarms High School
to regulation USTA size (increase size of complex by 20' (length) and 8' (width), and (3)
remove fi'om specifications - concrete curbing on tennis courts, demolition/removal of current
Mt. Pleasant Tennis Courts and bottom rails of fencing.

With the above modifications, Cabarrus County Parks and~l~ee~'c'at~3Tr-19*t~al~ment would like to
recommend awarding the low bid to H & L Paving, Inci'Fo~r $174,680.00.~arms County
Board of Commissioners approved these funds in the ar~,~ ~,~,~a'~ buaget appropriation.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your consideration
conceming these projects.
