Little, Director <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Recommended 2nd Phase of Cabarms County Parks and Recreation Matching <br />Grant Request for Fiscal Year 1999-2000 <br /> <br />In October, 1999, the Harrisburg Youth League Board of Directors voted not to sponsor the <br />BMX Track at Frank Liske Park. With the withdrawal of the Harrisburg Youth Association as <br />the sponsoring organization for this project, the association declined to submit the matching fund <br />of $7,000 toward the BMX Track facilities at Frank Liske Park. <br /> <br />With seven thousand dollars now available, Cabarms County Parks and Recreation Department <br />Staffreadvertised that Matching Incentive Grant funds were available; one application was <br />submitted to the Department prior to the deadline. Mt. Pleasant Youth Baseball/Softball/Soccer <br />Leagues proposed installing batting cages and protective athletic netting on the community <br />athletic fields at Mt. Pleasant Middle School Park Site. <br /> <br />The following is an outline of their request: <br /> <br />Batting Cages - $2,000 each x 5 fields = $10,000 <br />Backstop Netting - $1,000 each x 3 fields = 3,000 <br />Installation (Includes Bucket Truck) = 2.500 <br /> Total $15,500 <br /> <br />Requested from Cabarrus County Matching Incentive Grants $7,000 <br /> <br />On December 2, 1999, the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission recommended <br />this project for $7,000 of Matching Incentive Grant funds.
