Glenn Sink at the Virginia Stattr
Fair has recommended the use of their architect, Mr. Bill Lecky in Northern Virginia. The
Virginia State Fair has completely relocated and will be designing a brand new complex,
similar to our situation only on a much larger scale. Glenn can be reached at
804.228.3244 if you'd like to visit with him about their project. They have chosen Mr.
Lecky because he can design a multi-use/function facility and the folks with the Virginia
State Fair are very excited about their new project. Glenn said he had visited with Mr.
Lecky about our project and he is anxious to talk with Cabarrus County about our project
Mr. Lecky can be contacted at 202.333.2310.

I also spoke with Bill Edmonson at the Mountain State Fair in Asheville (828.687.1414)
and he gave me a couple of names of potential firms. He would not recommend the
company they used for their brand new facility since they were not happy with the
outcome. He could recommend Bob Moody and Associates in Waynesville at
828.456.7529 and the Cort Architectural Group (John Cort) at 828.251.5100. Both of
these firms submitted an information sheet to their fair board for consideration for their
project.

Bill explained that they put their request for proposals out on the web and asked potential
architects to fill out and submit an information form. The fair then selected those
individuals they were interested in visiting with about their project, He indicated that his --
was the way most fairs were getting their work done.

In addition, I have contact information for the International Association of Fairs and
Expositions, which is the parent organization for fair boards. This group will send us
information regarding every architect they have on file that's worked with any of their
members. Please let me know if I can forward this phone number to you, or provide any --
additional assistance with this project.

ccb

Employment and program opportunities are offered to all people regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
North Carolina State University, North Carolina A&T State Un vers ty, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and local governments cooperating.
