Box 707
Concord, N.C. 28026-0707

Dear Mr. Clifton:

Upon completion of our new elementary school, the Kannapolis City Board of Education
intends to declare the Charles B. Aycock Elementary School property no longer necessary or
desirable for school purposes, pursuant to G.S. 115C-518. In order to dispose of this property in
compliance with North Carolina law, the Kannapolis City Board of Education must first offer
Cabarms County the opportunity to purchase the property at a fair market price.

To expedite our planning for the disposal of this property, I would appreciate your
bringing this matter to the attention of your Board, and confirming in writing that Cabarrus
County is not interested in purchasing this property. We will then be in position to dispose of it
under the most favorable terms and as expeditiously as possible.

cc:

Please do not hesitate to contact me if there are any questions concerning this matter.

Sincerely,

Edward B.
