<br /> WHEREAS, this fee is not sufficient to cover the cost of confining
<br /> animals; and
<br /> WHEREAS, the Animal Control Division has asked for an increase in
<br /> the confinement fee for a~imals, both for the q~arantine of animals and
<br /> for the confinement of animals prior to being reclaimed by their
<br /> owners.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board of
<br /> commissioners sets the confinement fee at $8.00 per day for the
<br /> confinement and/or quarantine of animals by the Animal Contro~
<br /> Division.

<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mills, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board (1) approved the amendment to the Heating
<br />Appliance Repair and Replacement Program (subcontract}, Contract Number 97-4427-
<br />38(2} between Salisbury-Rowan community Service Council, Inc. and the Cabarrus
<br />County Department of Aging; (2} approved the amendment to the Weatherization
<br />Assistance Program for Low-Income Persons (Annual Contract), Contract Number 97-
<br />1441-38(2) between Salisbury-Rowan Community Service Council, Inc., the Cabarrus
<br />County Department of Aging and the Energy Division of the North Carolina
<br />Department of Conunerce; and (3) adopted the following budget amendment which
<br />included approval of funds for the use of temporary staff to meet additional
<br />production requirements and funds for the payment for overtime work to cu=rent
<br />weatherization maintenance mechanics.
