WFn~.I~.AS, "Area l" is an area with mounting urban growth pressures and the City of Kannapolis is prepared to meet those growth pressures not only with urban services but also with the appropriate urban planning and zoning controls; and, WHEREAS, the City of Kannapolis has positioned itself to expend considerable public fimds to extend into this area police and fire protection, war.er and sewer service, garbage collection, street maintenance, street lighting and other general government functions and facilities; NOW TFIEREFOR~, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Kannapolis: I) That the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County adopt a resolution permitting the City of Kannapolis to establish Planning and Development Regulations within the area known as Annexation "Area F', which is described in Attachment A hereto and shown on.the attached map, for the purpose of the City of Kannapolis exercising Extraterritorial lurisdiction within the area, as set forth in North Carolina General Statutes Section 160A-360. 2) That hpon the adoption of such Resolution by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County and any other appropriate documentation, the City Council of the City of Karmapolis intends to proceed with the adoption of an Ordinance establishing Extraterritorial Jurisdiction within "Area I" and the application of the City's Development Codes within the Area. 3) That upon the application of the City's Development Codes within the Area, it is the intent of the City Council of the City of Karmapolis to ¢ontra~t with Cabarrus County to continue to provide Building Inspe~'don Services within the Area.
