2 <br />SIX MONTHS MEASURABLE OBJECTIVES STATUS <br /> <br />(Continuation Programs Only) <br /> <br />In the space provided please list each measurable objective in your current program agreement and indicate the <br />degree to which your program has been successful in achieving them. (Use data from the first six months of the <br />fiscal year.) <br /> <br />Measurable objectives met July 1, 1997 through December 31, 1997. <br /> <br />85% referred children served <br />100% - 8 of 8 children referred were served. <br /> <br />38% prepared for long term placement <br />25% - 2 of 8 returned home, placed in foster home or group home or placed with relatives as determined <br />to be the best long-term placement. <br />3 placed in group care. <br /> <br />50% achieved successful adjustment for six months <br />50% - 4 of 8 children placed between September 1, 1995 and March 31, 1996, have had no new court <br />referrals and have made successful long term care placements. None of the 8 children terminated had <br />additional court charges. There were none out of school on suspension. Four are successfully adjusting <br />to their placements. <br /> <br />Between 6/97 and 12/31/97, we had 6 children placed in the group home; 2 for extension of maximum <br />of 120 days. <br /> <br />Currently there is one child placed in the group home as of 3/17/98. <br /> <br /> In the CBA 4th quarter report of FY-97, our statistics for the past 12 months showed 58.6% referred by <br />court, 83% referred as delinquent or status offenders. Our performance indicators showed 86.5% decrease in <br />additional court referrals, 79.6% decrease in runaways, and 88.7% decrease in school suspension/expulsion. <br />77% were between the ages of 14 and 17; 63% were white, 36% black; 54% female, 45% male. 73% were <br />active with Juvenile Court, 36% were on probation or court supervision, 13% had a petition filed and 18% were <br />at risk of Juvenile Court involvement. 50% had successful completion of the program. 4% were removed by <br />court, 90% because runaway and 27% because they did not adjust. At time of discharge 95% were enrolled in <br />school, 59% had court referrals while placed at the group home. 27% had school suspension or expulsions and <br />27% had been in secure custody. At discharge 62% went to relatives or back home, 36% went to group home <br />or foster home, 9% went to other living arrangements including hospitalization. <br /> <br /> According to the CBA Task Force report, their basis assessment for delinquent and at-risk children and <br />the primary contributing factors in the county are substance abuse, lack of socially acceptable values, negative <br />peer influence, lack of parenting skills, family violence and single parent households. <br /> <br /> <br />
