Form of Ballots. <br /> <br /> The form of the ballots to be used in the voting machines at <br />said referendum and in the instructions to absentee voters shall be <br />substantially as follows: <br /> <br />me <br /> <br /> OFFICIAL BALLOT <br /> SPECIAL REFERENDUM <br />COUNTY OF CABARRUS, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />, 1998 <br /> <br />Instructions <br /> <br />To vote in favor of the proposed sales and use tax~ punch the <br />number to the right of the word "YES". <br /> <br />To vote against the proposed sales and use tax, punch the <br />number to the right of the word "NO". <br /> <br />If you tear or deface or wrongly mark this ballot, return it <br />and get another. <br /> <br />Pursuant to the authority granted by Article I, Section <br />8, of the North Carolina Constitution, which provides, in <br />part, that the people of the State shall not be taxed <br />without their consent, SHALL the County of Cabarru~, by <br />resolution of the Board of Commissioners of the County of <br />Cabarrus, effective upon a date set forth in said <br />resolution, levy a temporary one percent (1%) local sales <br />and use tax, in addition to the current two percent (2%) <br />local sales and use tax, but which levy shall not apply <br /> <br /> <br />
