Day, Deputy County Manager <br />Date: August 10, 1998 <br />Re: Renovation of Former Health Dept. <br /> <br />On June 22, 1998 the Board approved a contract in the amount of $108,500 for <br />renovation of the former health department building. After renovations are <br />complete, the building will be occupied by Cooperative Extension, Soil and Water <br />Conservation and Farm Service. <br /> <br />The original amount budgeted for the project was $100,000, a shortfall of $8,500. <br />Additionally, certain elements of the project were not included the budget and <br />must be added now. Those elements include the following: <br /> 1. Moving Expenses $6,000 <br /> 2. Cabling $11,700 <br /> 3. Phone System $15,000 <br /> Total $32,700 <br /> <br />Finally, a $7,300 contingency is recommended for unanticipated expenses, which <br />so far total $2,932. <br /> <br />Attached for your consideration and approval is a budget amendment reflecting <br />the costs described here, totaling $40,000. <br /> <br />This project is on schedule for completion by the end of August.
