<br />Discussion of Issues Relating to Access to the Proposed LIFE Center at the

<br />Senior Center Site - Mr. Frank A. Rankin, III, Co-Chairman of LIFE Center

<br /> Mr. F. A. Rankin, III, Co-Chairman of the LIFE Center Capital Campaign,
<br />reported the committee is close to completing its capital campaign and
<br />finishing plans for the new LIFE Center to be built beside the County Senior
<br />Center. He asked that the Board consider a formal Lease Agreement between the
<br />County and the LIFE Center at its next meeting. Also, he requested the Board
<br />to instruct the County Manager, County Attorney and Finance Director to work
<br />with LIFE Center representatives in investigating the purchase of property on
<br />Lenmore Drive to provide an additional access to the site.

<br /> Chairman Casper asked the County Manager, the Finance Director and Ms.
<br />Lena Bowen, delegate to the LIFE Center Committee from the Aging Advisory
<br />Board, to pursue the acquisition of the property on Lenmore Drive.
<br />
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Niblock
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board agreed to consider a proposed lease
<br />agreement for the LIFE Center at the next meeting and instructed the County
<br />Manager, Finance Director, and Ms. Lena Eowen, Member of the Aging Advisory
<br />Board, to work w~th the LIFE Center Committee in pursuing the acquisition of
<br />property on Lenmore Drive. A recommendation is to be made to the Board at the
<br />next meeting concerning this property.
