This request would budget for use in the current <br />year's budget, funds from a state grant for providing transportation services to Work First <br />clients, as the grant was received too late in the last fiscal year to be used. <br /> <br /> Through work with the County Budget Officer, we determined that a $14,000 <br />grant for provision of transportation to Work First recipients had not been received until <br />May, 1998. Funds for this grant were not utilized, but can be utilized this budget year. <br />The enclosed amendment appropriates these funds from fund balance. If not utilized for <br />eligible activities, the grant funds would have to be returned. <br /> <br /> (I have enclosed forms entitled "Statement of Commitment for Formula <br />Allocation" and "Applicant Seeking Permission to Apply..." submitted by the County <br />last March.
