Consideration of an Aareement between Cabarrus County and the Ci~v of
KannaDolis for the Development of a KannaDolis Recreational Sft~

Mr. Clifton and Mr. David Hales, Kannapolis City Manager, briefly
reviewed the proposed Agreement for the City to lease to the County
approximately 45+ acres off Orphanage Road and to provide $390,000.00 to
initiate the development of a recreational facility at the s~te. The City
had promised this funding for the development of a public park at Lake
Concord at the time the County utility system was merged with the Eannapolis
and Concord systems in 1995. However, the Lake Concord site proved to be less
desirable for that purpose and the County has now contracted to sell that
land.

Commissioner Mills left the meeting for a short period of time.
