212 <br /> <br />DR Fj <br /> <br />Road Petition - Additions to the State System (Sagebrush Circle, Walden Lane and <br />Forsythe Lane) <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved by resolution the addition of <br />Sagebrush Circle, Walden Lane and Forsythe Lane to the State secondary road <br />system. <br /> <br />Extension Service Staffing Request to Place the Farm Business Management <br />Extension Assistant (State Funded Position> at the Cabarrus County Extension <br />Office <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the placement of the Farm Business <br />Management System Extension Assistant (fully funded by the State) in the Cabarrus <br />County Extension facilities until such time that State funding is no longer <br />available. <br /> <br />Resolution Authortzin~ Submission of Section 5311 Grant Application for <br />Replacement County Vans <br /> <br /> Appendix A <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> Applicant Seeking Permission To Apply For <br /> Section 5311 Funding, Enter Into Agreement <br />With The North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />And To Provide The Necessary Assurances <br /> <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Barrahart, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />for the adoption of the following resolution, and upon being put to a vote was <br />duly adopted. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has <br />received a grant from the US Department of Transportation authorized <br />by Section 5311 of the Federal Transit Act of 1991, as amended, to <br />provide assistance for rural public transportation projects; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of these transportation funds is to provide <br />grant monies to local agencies for the provision of rural public <br />transportation services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Article 2B of Chapter 136 of the North Carolina General <br />Statutes and the Governor of North Carolina have designated the <br />North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) as the agency <br />responsible for administering funds received through Section 5311 of <br />the Federal Transit Act of 1991; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County hereby assures and certifies that it will <br />comply with the Federal Statutes, regulations, executive orders, the <br />Special Section 5311(f) Warranty, and all administrative <br />requirements which relate to the applications made to and grants <br />received from the Federal Transit, as well as the provisions of <br />Section 1001 of Title 18, U.S.C. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the County Manager of Cabarrus <br />County is hereby authorized to submit a grant application for <br />funding under Section 5311 of the Federal Transit Act of 1991, make <br />the necessary assurances and certifications and be empowered to <br />enter into an agreement with the NCDOT to provide rural public <br />transportation services. <br /> <br />Emergency Medical Services - Budget Amendment <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment. <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES <br />AMOUNT: $4,600.00 <br /> <br /> <br />
