Page Two Continued <br />Cabarrus County Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />1996 Annual Report <br /> <br />ACHCAC members attended the Annual Traininq provided by the Reqion F <br />Ombudsman Program. <br /> <br />Members made friendly visits to facilities. <br /> <br />ACHCAC members souqht the support of one member's church qroup to <br />provide a lap quilt to each resident in two Adult Care Home facilities <br /> <br />last year and are workinq toward others during 1997. <br /> <br />The committee experienced the following strengths during the year: <br /> <br />1. Good workinq relationship with the Adult Care Home Administrators and <br /> <br /> qood rapport with the facilities in qeneral. <br /> <br />2. Supported and attended the Cabarrus County Lonq Term Care <br /> Administrators' quarterly meetinqs. <br /> <br />3. Stronq commitment and dedication on the Dart of those active ACHCAC <br /> <br />members. <br /> <br />4. Good communication between residents and ACHCAC members thus providinq <br /> <br />a trust relationship. <br /> <br />Good workinq relationship with the Ombudsman. <br /> <br />Participated in a variety of church, civic, and community-related <br />aqencies/orqanizations/activities. <br /> <br />The committee experienced the following problems during the year: <br /> <br />1. Incomplete membership and not beinq a full committee the entire year and <br /> in previous years. <br /> <br />Lack of participation of some ACHCAC members or the inability to <br />actively serve due to overcommitments, inaccurate expectations of <br />committee duties and responsibilities, or a qeneral lack of interest. <br />County Commissioners need to continue to make timely <br />appointments/reappointments to ensure no delays in committee activity._ <br /> <br /> <br />
