Moore, Secretary <br /> <br />April 2, 1997 <br /> <br />Dear Emergency Management Partner: <br /> <br /> First let me say, as the new Director of the Division of Emergency Management, I am <br />committed to integrating your county into our up and coming statewide Emergency Management <br />partnership program. We have learned many lessons from Hurricane Fran, and with the '97 <br />Hurricane/Severe Weather season approaching, our Division is taking the first step in building a <br />statewide Emergency Management information network. <br /> <br /> I am seeking your commitment as well in this partnership agreement, to utilize the <br />enclosed Emergency Management funds which are provided to your county for the purpose of a <br />stand alone computer outlined in Attachment A for your county Emergency Operations Center <br />(EOC) or your county Emergency Management office. This computer will forge the required link <br />that your EOC needs for Internet access and future communications options that will become the <br />backbone of the North Carolina Emergency Management System. <br /> <br /> Let me say thank you in advance for realizing the importance of this partnership and <br />working with our Division in providing a quicker and more efficient delivery service of <br />Emergency Management programs and resources to the citizens of this great state, our Area <br />Coordinators will be glad to answer any questions you may have on the specific goals and <br />objectives of this vital information network.
