Box 218 <br />Monroe, NC 28111-0218 <br /> <br />Dear Mrs. Casper, Mr. Morgan, and Mr. Pittman: <br /> <br /> In May you received a letter from the members of the Rowan County Commission <br />asking that Rowan County be allowed to join Stanly, Union, and Cabarrus Counties in the <br />Piedmont Area Mental Health Authority. <br /> <br /> On June 10, 1997, the Piedmont Area Board passed a motion that approved Rowan <br />County joining the Piedmont Area Authority, subject to the following: <br /> <br />1. Start-up funds of $1,584,273 <br />2. State/Federal Funds for Services in Rowan County of $3,698,384. <br />3. A three way agreement between Rowan County, Piedmont Area <br /> Authority, and the North Carolina Department of Human Resources. <br /> <br /> On June 12 a meeting was held in Raleigh involving officials of the North Carolina <br />Department of Human Resources, the Rowan County Manager, two Rowan County <br />Commissioners, legislators representing Rowan County, and staff from the Area Mental Health <br />Authority. <br /> <br />Serving Cabarrus, Stanly and Union Counties <br /> <br /> <br />
