An Ordinance Amending the <br />Zoning Ordinance of Cabarrus County <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners, that the <br />Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance be amended as follows: <br /> <br />Part 1. That Chapter 2, Section 2-2 "Basic Terms and Definitions" is hereby <br /> amended by adding a new set of definitions. <br /> <br /> The following supplemental special definitions apply to Wireless <br /> Telecommunication Services. <br /> <br />WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES DEFINITIONS: <br /> <br />ACCESSORY EQUIPMENT STRUCTURE: A building or cabinet-like <br />structure located adjacent to, or in the immediately vicinity of, a wireless <br />telecommunication tower or antenna to house equipment customarily <br />incidental to the receiving or transmitting of wireless broadcasts, cellular <br />telephone calls, voice messaging and paging services. <br /> <br />ANTENNA: Equipment used for transmitting or receiving radio <br />frequency signals which is attached to a tower, building or other <br />structure, usually consisting of a series of directional panels, microwave <br />or satellite dishes, or omnidirectional "whip" antenna. <br /> <br />ANTENNA, STEALTH: Wireless telecommunication antenna and <br />related equipment designed to blend into the surrounding environment <br />or integrated into the physical structure to which it is attached. <br /> <br />BASE TRANSCEIVER STATION: Equipment that provides the link <br />between wireless communications and land-based public telephone <br />switching networks, including radio frequency transceivers, back-up <br />power sources, power amplifiers, and signal processing hardware, <br />,typically contained in a small building or cabinet. <br /> <br />CO-LOCATION: The location of wireless telecommunications <br />equipment from more than one provider on one common tower, building <br />or structure. <br /> <br />TOWER: Any ground-mounted, pole, spire, structure or combination <br />thereof, including supporting lines, cables, wire, braces and masts, to <br />which a telecommunications antenna is attached or affixed. <br /> <br /> <br />
