Little, Director <br />Cabarrus County Parks, Recreation and <br />Property Maintenance Department <br /> <br />Subject: Tractor Bids <br /> <br /> This letter is in reference to the submitted bids for purchasing tractors for the Property <br />Maintenance and Bakers Creek Park. The overall iow bidder was Charlotte Tractor Company in <br />the following amount: Property Maintenance Department's tractor - $30,122.35 and the Bakers <br />Creek Park's tractor - $16,622.31. <br /> <br /> In the Fiscal Year Budget 1997-98, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />appropriated $29,500.00 for a replacement tractor and $1,565.00 for a scrape blade. The total <br />amount of these two items is $31,065.00. Cabarrus County Property Maintenance Department <br />has elected to purchase a four hundred dollar ($400.00) scrape blade from supply account <br />#19-40-330; therefore, the approved $1,565 scrape will r~o~ be purchased in FY 1997-98. <br /> <br /> The Bakers Creek Park's tractor budget amount approved was $17,500.00; therefore, the <br />$16,622.31 bid amount is $877.69 cost savings. <br /> <br /> After reviewing the tractor bid specifications and bid summary, it was determined in the <br />best interest of Cabarrus County Parks, Recreation and Property Maintenance Department to <br />recommend the award of this bid to Charlotte Tractor Company for $46,744.66. <br /> <br /> <br />
