FitzGerald, Director <br /> (919) 733-3055 <br /> <br />Dear County Manager: <br /> <br /> RE: FY 1998-00 Work First County Block <br /> Grant Plan Model <br /> <br />I hope you have taken advantage of the recent educational activities regarding the provisions of the State <br />Welfare Reform Legislation. During these events, we have committed to provide counties with a Work <br />First Cottllty Block Grant Plan Model. That model is attached. The model package includes format and <br />submittal instructions for the plata. <br /> <br />Remember, Standard County plans are due no later than January 15, 1998; Electing County plans are <br />due no later than February 1, 1998. The model is designed to be used by both Standard and Electing <br />Counties. When a plan requirement applies only to an Electing or Standard County, it is clearly <br />indicated in bold type. <br /> <br />Also attached is a resource list developed by the Association of County Commissioners to assist you in <br />your plannhlg process. <br /> <br />Each county wilI soon receive, ttnder separate cover, information about county specific goals, responses <br />to questions from the September 29, 1997 Welfare Reform teleconference, background information <br />about connty economic conditions, and a description of the level of local flexibility for botl! Electing and <br />Standard Counties. We will provide other information as it becomes available. <br /> <br />Please note that in tile future, we will send welfare reform information to tile county contact you have <br />identified based on the request from the Association of County Commissioners. <br /> <br />We are committed to helping all counties succeed.
