(UUDSI), a variety of methods for sealing
construction joints, repairing leaking joints, and repair of cracks of varying degrees both in the
Principal Spillway and the RCC Spillway for the Coddle Creek Dam. The following is a summary of
the specific tasks, estimated costs, and expected results.

Task:

Estimated Cost:
Expected Result:

Repair of leaking construction joint between Gate Nos. I and
2;
$5,100.00
The construction joint will be cleaned and sealed on the
upstream face. Following repair there will be no evidence of
continued leakage through the joint.

Task:
Estimated Cost:
Expected Result:

Repair of crack in RCC Spillway;
$7,855.0O
The crack in the RCC Spillway will be cleaned and drilled
with angled holes that intercept the crack and injected to
completely fill and seal the crack to prevent the intrusion of
water/moisture into the structure.

Task:

Estimated Cost:
Expected Result:

Repair of cracks in Principal Spillway and abutments
showing signs of discharge or efflorescence;
$21,000.00
The random cracks in the Principal Spillway and Abutments
will be cleaned, filled, and sealed to prevent the intrusion
and/or migration of water/moisture into the structure and
prevent (reduce) further efflorescence of the concrete.

HDR Engineering, Inc.
of North Carolina

Suite 1400 Telephone
128 S.
