CABARflU$ COUNt'

January 31, 1996

To:

From:

Subject:

Cabarms County Board of Commissioners

Mr. Steve L. Little, Director
Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department

Ballfield Lighting Project Bid

Formal advertisement was published for this lighting bid on January 14, 1996 in The
Concord Tribune. Thirteen bid packages were mailed to the lighting companies. I have
enclosed a list of these vendors.

On January 31, 1996 at 2:00 p.m., three bids were received and opened publicly. The
following page provides a summary of these bids. The bid specifications were divided into three
projects: (1) Frank Liske Park - 300 ft. Athletic Field - (Fixtures and Poles), (2) Bethel - 150 fi.
Athletic Field - (Fixtures only) and (3) Harrisburg - 150 ft. Athletic Field - (Fixtures only).
Cabarrus County will hire an electrical contractor to install these three lighting projects. The
Bethel and Harrisburg athletic fields are Incentive Matching Grant projects based on at least 50%
matching funds from community organizations. The Youth Athletic Leagues at these two
respective schools have matching funds toward these projects.

As noted in the Bid Summary, Musco Lighting Company provided the overall low bid at
$35,808.00 for these three projects. This $35,808.00 is within the Cabarrus County Budget
amount.
