RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE UPDATE OF TIKE KANLACON URBAN AREA <br /> MASTER THOROUGHFARE PLAN <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County, the lead planning agency for the KANLACON Urban Area, and <br />the North Carolina Department of Transportation have previously mutually adopted a thoroughfare plan <br />for the KANLACON Urban Area, February 8, 1988, as provided for in North Carolina General Statutes <br />136-66.2; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes 13646.2(d) provides that either the County or <br />Department of Transportation may propose changes in an adopted plan at any given notice to the other <br />party, but no change shall be effective until it is adopted by both the Department of Transportation and the <br />County Governing Board; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Statewide Planning Branch, North Carolina Department of Transportation, in <br />cooperation with the Cabarms County, Rowan County, the Towns of China Grove, Landis and Harrisburg <br />and the Cities of Concord and Kannapolis did prepare a revised thoroughfare plan for the Urban Area <br />based on a comprehensive reevaluation of the existing KANLACON Urban Area Thoroughfare Plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, after study of the revised plan, the members of the Cabarms County Board of <br />Commissioners deems it to be in the best interests of the County to adopt the revised plan and <br />recommends adoption of the updated KANLACON Urban Area Thoroughfare Plan to the North Carolina <br />Department of Transportation. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Conunissioners of Cabarrus County <br />adopts the revised KANLACON Urban Area Thoroughfare Plan as shown on a map dated February 21, <br />1996, and was coopomtively prepared by the Statewide Planning Branch of the North Caroliua <br />Department of Transportation, and Rowan and Cabarms Counties, the Towns of Clfiua Grove, Landis and <br />Harrisburg, and the Cities of Concord and Kannapolis to serve as a future guide in the development of the <br />mad and highway system in the KANLACON Urban Area and the same is hereby reeommended to the <br />North Carolina Department of Transportation for its subsequent adoption: <br /> <br />This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after tiffs the <br /> , 1996. <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />Approved as to Form Only: <br /> <br />County Attorney <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />County Manager <br /> <br /> <br />
