6 <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />FUEL SERVICE <br /> <br />Bid No. 95-012 <br /> <br />GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />The co,,pany submitting this bid agrees to deliver to the County of Cabarms various fuels as listed on <br />Attachment "A" through June 30, 1997. <br /> <br />The bid amount on these fuels will be based on the average price in the Charlotte, North Carolina market <br />as publiahed in Oil Price Information Service, plus markup, FOB delivered to the locations shown on <br />Attachment "A". <br /> <br />The unit price rate charged for fuel orders will be based on the bid markup added to the average price for <br />the Charlotte, North Carolina market as stated in Oil Price Information Service published on Monday of <br />the week following the order request. Only equal markup values are to be used on the bid sheet. <br /> <br />All fuel deliveries are to be made as soon as possible a~er the order is placed. Maximnm delivery time <br />shall not exceed 48 hours. Normal delivery time will be 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, <br />with no delivery on holidays. Supplier will notify using County department of approximate time of <br />delivery within 30 minutes prior to anivaL Each delivery is to be accoi~anied by a bill of lading showing <br />exact gaHonage, price per gallon and in the case of gasoline, the composition of any octane blending. All <br />deliveries are to be made with either the bidders direct personnel and equipment or a wholly owned <br />subsidiary. No subcontract hanling will be acceptable. Any additional equipment to complete delivery of <br />fuel to storage tanks as installed will be the sole responsibility of the supplier for the duration of the <br />contract. <br /> <br />The supplier must submit with the bid, a certificate of insurance carded as liability in the transport and <br />sale of petroleum products. The bid must also be acco.,?nled by a bid bond/deposit payable to the <br />County of Cabarms as a guarantee that if the contract is awarded to the supplier, that the supplier will <br />enter into an agreement. The amount to be deposited shah be five percent (5%) of the total base bid. <br /> <br />The contract will be awarded to the lowest total base bid by a respons~ole bidder complying with ah the <br />provisions ofthi.q document. Any provision of the doo~ment not co,-idied with can result in cancellation <br />of the contract with award going to the second lowest bidder. The County of Cabarrus guarantees no <br />total quantities to be purchased under this contract. Upon mutual agreement between supplier and the <br />County of Cabarrus, this contract may be extended for additional periods. <br /> <br />Supplier will not hold the County of Cabarms liable for damages to County property from discharge of <br />any fuels onto or into grounds or site of fuel storage. Supplier will be responsible for cleanup of County <br />fuel storage site if fuels are discharged onto or into site. AH cleanup activities will be accon,plished by <br />means or rules and regulations of the North Carolina Department of Natural Resources. <br /> <br />This contract may be cancelled by either party by giving a 30 day written notice. <br /> <br /> <br />
