Whereas our well-being depends on the production of ample food, fiber and other <br />products of the soil; and <br />Whereas the quality and quantity of these prod~zcts depends on the conservation, <br />wise use and proper management of soll and water resources; and <br />Whereas protection of our water from pollution depends on sound conservation <br />practices; and <br />Whereas conservation districts provide a practical and democratic organization <br />through which landowners take the initiative to conserve and make proper use of <br />these resources; and <br />Whereas the conservation movement is carrying forward a program of soil and <br />water conservation in cooperation with numerous partners: <br />Therefore I, in full appreciation of the value of our soil and water to the public <br />welfare, and desiring to honor those who protect those resources, do hereby <br />proclaim April 25 throngk May 5, 1996 <br /> <br /> -Soil and Tater Stewardship Teek <br /> <br />In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal <br /> <br />to be affixed. <br /> <br />Signature <br /> <br />Date <br /> <br /> <br />
