CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />RAIL CORRIDOR STUDY RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> A motion was made by and seconded by <br />the adoption of the following Resolution, and upon being put to a vote was duly adopted: <br /> <br />for <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has plans to eliminate <br />redtmrlant and/or high hazard at-grade railroad crossings statewide in order to promote more safe and <br />efficient traffic operations; and <br /> <br /> WI~REAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation and the County has agreed <br />that comprehensive traffic study and railroad crossing analysis would benefit the traffic operations <br />within the County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has agreed to prepare the <br />study, at no expense to the County or the municipalities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, if the study recommends the consolidation of one or more crossings, the <br />municipalities agree to close a crossing and/or crossings. Furthermore, NCDOT agrees to assist the <br />municipalities in developing mitigation projects where applicable with the crossings recommended <br />for closure. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said project in Cabarms/Rowan County, <br />is hereby formally approved by the Commissioners of the County of Cabarrus and that the Chairman <br />and Clerk of this County are hereby empowered to sign and execute the Agreement with the North <br />Carolina Department of Transportation. <br /> <br /> I, Frankie F.
