HUNTING AND FISHING DAY

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, hunting and fishing have always been an important part of the American
tradition; and

WHEREAS,

for over 100 years, sportsmen and sportswomen have been in the forefront of
the conservation movement, providing the impetus and the financing for many
of the wildlife conservation programs existing today; and

WHEREAS,

as individuals, and through their organizations, hunters and anglers volunteer
countless hours of their time for conservation projects and to educate others
about the wise management of our natural resources; and

WHEREAS, we commend the responsible hunters and anglers for their efforts on behalf of
wildlife and their contributions to conservation.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jeffrey L. Barnhart, Chairman of the Cabarrus County Board
of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim September 28, 1996, as "Hunting and Fishing Day in
Cabarrus County" and call upon all the citizens of the county to join with hunters, anglers, and
other responsible conservationists to ensure the wise use and proper management of our
natural resources to benefit future generations.

Adopted this 16th day of September, 1996.

Jeffrey L. Bamhart, Chairman
Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners
