HUNTING AND FISHING DAY <br /> <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, hunting and fishing have always been an important part of the American <br /> tradition; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />for over 100 years, sportsmen and sportswomen have been in the forefront of <br />the conservation movement, providing the impetus and the financing for many <br />of the wildlife conservation programs existing today; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />as individuals, and through their organizations, hunters and anglers volunteer <br />countless hours of their time for conservation projects and to educate others <br />about the wise management of our natural resources; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, we commend the responsible hunters and anglers for their efforts on behalf of <br /> wildlife and their contributions to conservation. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jeffrey L. Barnhart, Chairman of the Cabarrus County Board <br />of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim September 28, 1996, as "Hunting and Fishing Day in <br />Cabarrus County" and call upon all the citizens of the county to join with hunters, anglers, and <br />other responsible conservationists to ensure the wise use and proper management of our <br />natural resources to benefit future generations. <br /> <br />Adopted this 16th day of September, 1996. <br /> <br />Jeffrey L.
