abarrus County
heriff's D e b ur.! nma a s r!

Lt. Danny F. Cagle

Lieutenant Cagle began his career with the Cabarrus County Sheriffs Department on
September 15, 1970 following his discharge from the military where he served as a
military policeman.

His military service took him to Thailand where he worked closely with the Thai Police.
Having served in Thailand myself I can attest to the hazards and stress of his particular
duty stations while assigned in that country.

During his career with the department he has worked in the patrol, communications and
criminal investigation divisions.

While working full time with the department, Lt. Cagle earned his Associates Degree in
Police Science and Criminology from Central Piedmont Community College in 1974 and
his Bachelor or Science Degree in Law Enforcement and Administration from UNCC in
1977.

He has completed well over 1000 hours of specialized law enforcement training.

Lt. Cagle was promoted from Detective Sergeant to Detective Lieutenant in December of
1982, replacing then Lieutenant Robert Canaday, and has headed the Sheriffs
Department Criminal Investigation Division since that time.

Lt. Cagle has demonstrated a high degree of loyalty to the department, dedication to his
job and integrity in the performance of his duties. He has provided consistent and
professional leadership for the department and will certainly be missed by everyone in
the department.

We all wish him well in all his endeavors in the future.

P.O.
