Concord, NC 28025 Dear Eddie: As you know, with the growth of the City and the recent annexation, the business of the Planning & Zoning Commission continues to grow. Your contributions in service to the community as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission are much appreciated. However, you have been unable to attend the past four consecutive meetings(3 regular meetings, 1 special meeting). We understand how personal schedules can limit participation, but at the same time the Commission needs all of its members in order to function. This is particularly true when considering board of adjustment matters which requires the vote of at least six members. In accordance with their bylaws, the Planning & Zoning Commission voted at their October 15, 1996 meeting to request the appointment of a new member to replace you. The bylaws specify in Section 4.6 that "should a member fail to attend three consecutive regular meetings of the Board, and should there be no adequate excuse for such absences, the Chairman, with the concurrence of a majority of the entire Commission, shall recommend to the Mayor and City Council that a vacancy be declared and that the vacated position be filled."
