[~:C D & H ~RLE[GH N C FRX N0:~9-?@~-5730 ~73 P08

3,4-,~

Magnetic Survey Field Work - CDM's subconsukant will perform a limited magnetic
survey to include at lea~t two survey lines across Option C. The work will be
performed with a portable magnctometer/grafliometer. We estimate that this work will
requixe about one to two days in the field. Survey line locations will be selected hy
CDM, The intent is to select lines which would cross typical dike trends at right
angles. The CDM subconsultant will locate these lines in the field by estimating
distances to site features and using corresponding topographic maps. Data will be
collected at 25 to 50 foot intervals as selected by CDM and the subeonsultant. Any
magnetic anomalies ~dicat{ng a dlabase dike w3.1! be flagged along the survey llne as a
temporary marker.

3.4.3

Analyses snd Repgning - CDM and the subconsultant will analyze the magnet/c data
to estimate rice location of any significant magnetic features encountered in our survey.
Detailed analyses which involve computer modeling are not included in this scope of
services. Man-made interference to haclude power lines, l:aaried objects, and traffic can
effect the quality of our data collection. Natural phenomena such as sola~ flares tha~
alter the earth's magnetic field can also distort the field data. We will avoid man-
made feannes to the extent possible and m-calibrate our instrument to check for
magnetic fluctuations. Our interpretation will therefore be b~sed on the available
collected data. Upon comptefioi~ of our analyses, we will present the results of out
field work and analyses in a letter report.

Task 3.5. Monitoe Well Location/Elevation Sueveying

The locations and elevation of zlt new piezometers will have to be surveyed by a Registered
Land Surveyor. In addition, the results of the Magnetic Survey will require locating by a
Registered Land Surveyor. CDM w~ retain the services of a land surveyor to provide
coordinates and elevations for each of the bozings completed in Task 3-3 and to locate the
Magnetic Survey results in Task 3.4, Since the actual number of piezometers to be located
&nd the data from the magnetic survey J.s unknown at this time, an estimated cost allowance
for these services has been provided in Section 4 of th~s Amendment, It is recognized,
however, that the exact cost of these services will not be known until the boring plan is
approved by the SWS. Therefore, it is possible that the cost of these services will vary from
the 'allowance provided. CDM will not exceed the mount a~ocated in Section 4 without
separate written authorization from the County. It should be noted the County will only be
invoice~ for the actual cost of the surveying.

Task 3.6 - Site Hydrogeologic Report

Once all of the field and laboratory work is completed, CDM will prepare a Site
Hydrogeologic Report for Option C in accordance with Rule .1623 (a)(1-13). The scope of
.~ervices for the repo~ is outlined below;

3.6.1

Regional Report - CDM will prepare a report on loc. al and regional geology and
hydrogeology based on research of available Iitexature for the area~ This information
is to be used in plaxming the field investigation for ~e Option C area This report
