TO: <br />FROM: <br />DATE: <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Sherry Barnhardt, Purchasing Agent <br />Jim Cook, Social Services Director <br />1-23 -95 <br />Proposals for LAN Workstations at DSS~' <br /> <br /> I asked Ms. Fan to assess the three proposals received in response to the County's <br />recent Request for Proposals for LAN workstations for the Department. <br /> <br /> I am recommending the Board of Commissioners award the purchase contract to <br />Micron Computers, Inc. I am recommending the County purchase 40 workstations. <br /> <br />The basis for this recommendation is as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) The price per unit proposed by Micron, $2694.89, included a four year warranty <br />for parts and labor. Computer Integration, Inc. included a one year warranty in the per <br />unit price given in its proposal. The service and maintenance agreement offered by <br />Computer Integration, Inc. in its proposal for years two and three (and for year four using <br />the year three cost quoted) brings the per unit price for its proposed workstation to <br />$2815.92. <br /> 2) We found extensive documentation and recommendations in periodicals <br />relating to Micron, Inc., and both the components of the workstation and the warranty it <br />has proposed. <br /> <br />I have attached the summary prepared by Ms. Fan. <br /> <br /> We would like very much for the contract to be awarded by the Board at its next <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Please let me know of any additional information we can provide. <br /> <br />cc: John Witherspoon <br /> Jean Kennedy/Debbie Brannon <br /> <br /> Department of Social Services <br /> <br />P.O.
