1993 - 94 Accomplishments <br /> <br />DIVISION ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br /> <br />Special Programs / Publicity and Marketing <br /> <br />· Planned a traditionaI summer day camp program for <br /> youths 6 - 12 at Frank Liske Park with before and after <br /> care for working parents. <br /> <br />· Increased Summer Camp enrollment by 45%. <br /> <br />· Certified all fitness instructors in the NDEITA aerobics <br /> and STEP certification program. <br /> <br />· Hired new PR / Special Programs Supervisor Spring '94 <br /> <br />Athletics <br /> <br /> Phase one of a new program format was implemented. <br />Due to the ever increasing number of participants and teams <br />and no athletic support staff, change in direct program respon- <br />sibilities and youth athletic funding began. The new program <br />format calls for each volunteer association to pay 25% of <br />officials' fees in '93-'94 FY and 50% of officials' fees in '94- <br />'95 FY. The Parks and Recreation Department will continue to <br />maintain facilities, secure facilities, and do administrative <br />work, Athletics operated successfully during FY '93-'94 with <br />an 88 team increase. <br /> <br />Frank Liske Park <br /> <br />· Made many changes to comply with theAmericans with <br /> Disabilitie.~ Act~in¢luding a new playgound at the barn <br /> restr6om remodeling. <br /> <br />· Computerized reservation system. <br /> <br />School Park Concept <br /> <br /> The Kannapolis Board of Education,theCabarras County <br />Board of Education, and the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners endorsed the School Park Concept. <br /> <br /> <br />
